Malpractice Insurance? MatchAPro works with local ministries of health to ensure that traveling surgeons are licensed and covered in the respective jurisdiction for the duration of the time that they are doing volunteer procedures.

Is MatchAPro a non-profit organization? We are a Social Enterprise.

How do traveling surgeons get paid? MatchAPro’s current model only on-boards volunteer surgeons. All travel, accommodation, food and transportation costs are covered by MatchAPro.

How do you verify doctors? MatchAPro’s Doctor sign-up portal requires the doctor to submit their medical license and ID for vetting before gaining access to the patient portal.

How do the patients reach the doctors? The local physician who diagnosis the patient adds the patient to MatchAPro if they fall into a waiting period longer than 4 months for a quality of life changing surgery.

Is there a fee? The app charges a small Matching and facilitation fee every time a patient gets a doctor through the MatchAPro app.

Who pays the fee? Depending on the healthcare system, either the government, health insurance targeted at underserved communities, crowd funds, or a sponsor pays the matching fee. (Traveling surgeons don’t pay for anything).
